Day 77: Yellow crown

Day 77 – Wore a crown ‪#‎hatONit‬ from Courtney and welcomed the arrival of my parents today! I’m still very low energy from chemo + anti-nausea drugs, but I pushed through long enough to prepare and give a practice defense talk (from my couch) to my advisor (who made a Saturday house call). My advisors and committee are being incredibly supportive of me in this process, as unusually last minute some parts of it are.

Yeah, so my defense is Tuesday!!! Everyone is welcome, the info is:
Extracellular Electrophysiology with Close-Packed Recording Sites: Spike Sorting and Characterization
Caroline Moore-Kochlacs
Tuesday, July 26th, 10am
B01, CompNet Building
677 Beacon St
Boston, MA
(the building is keycard access only, but there will be someone at the door letting people in)

Later, at 4pm, join us in celebrating at Cornwall’s Pub!
654 Beacon St, Boston, MA 02215

My wishes for the next couple days are clarity of thought and good energy, to finish off the defense well. (And continuing, the dissertation still has a lot of work to go.) I also wish for the desire to drink alcohol on Tuesday, because today my post-chemo digestive tract thinks alcohol is super gross. And I really want to want some sparkling wine on Tuesday!

Y’all are the best in supporting me through this all.
